After the exams

In August 2022 the city recorded 224 mm of rain in a day and the barrage gates were opened. Water entered low-lying parts of Talwandi, Jawahar Nagar, Station Road and Nayapura. If you are moving from a ground-floor room or house between July and September, keep packed cartons off the floor, especially books, and be ready to shift the date by a day if the river is rising.

Kota's summers are severe, with highs that can pass 45 degrees. Loading is done early in the morning.

Books do not mind the heat. Laptops, power banks and anything with a battery should travel with you, not in the truck.

Taking an RJ-20 scooter or bike home

A vehicle bought and registered in Kota and taken permanently to another state will generally need a No Objection Certificate from the transport office here before it can be re-registered. Arrange it before you leave the city, because doing it from home is slow. BH-series vehicles are exempt. The Parivahan portal lists the steps, and the owner completes them.
